Get a Financial Vision

As we kick off our series Mind Your Own Business this weekend at Real Life one of the major themes will be learning to get a financial vision for your life. In other words, what do you want to get out of life and what do you think that God would have you do with his resources. Once you get a clearer picture of that you need to make a plan to get there. The Bible says in Proverbs that "where there is no vision the people parish." Even though the Bible wasn't talking money in this case I think it actually applies pretty well.

If you have no vision of what you are to be doing with the resources God is trusting you with you will die financially. If you have a vision then you can develop a plan that will help you get there.

For April and I. Our plan is to become totally debt free so that we can spend our lives working in full-time ministry without the stresses of having to pay bills. Since that is our vision we have developed a plan that will help us get there. It won't happen without some hard work and it would never happen with out a plan.

So what is it for you? What is your vision? Home ownership? Early retirement? No credit cards? Being able to give more? What ever your vision is develop a plan to get there and learn to focus with "Gazelle Intensity!" (you'll learn the meaning of this next week!)
